Bulk Excavation Service
Bulk excavation is the term used when a significant volume of earth is required to be excavated and displaced from any given point to achieve the required reduced level (RL).
Bulk excavation typically begins with a site survey, which helps assess the work’s scope and formulate a plan. Once the job has started, bulk excavators use various heavy equipment to remove the earth. If access is sufficient larger earthmoving machinery is preferably used to excavate and displace excavated matter.
The main advantage of using large earthmoving machinery is reducing time and costs. At GJ Demolition and Landscaping we use our 20 and 25 tonne excavators for most bulk excavations.
During a bulk excavation, a surveyor provides a datum point with the reduced level. We use this datum point as our reference point and set our laser level to the designed reduced level on the plans. We also use the laser level as a guide to cut down to the desired level.
The material is then typically transported off-site for disposal or reuse. In some cases, the earth matter can be used on-site to fill levels below the designed reduced level. This is referred to as cut and fill.
Site Cut Excavation Service
Site cut excavation involves removing soil and other materials from a site in order to create a level and stable foundation for construction or landscaping projects. This type of excavation is typically used in areas where the existing ground level is uneven, rocky, or unstable, making it difficult to build structures or create landscaped areas that are both safe and functional.
The process of site-cut excavation begins with a thorough analysis of the site to determine the extent of the excavation that will be required. This analysis takes into account factors such as the size and shape of the site, the type of soil or rock that is present, and any underground utilities or structures that may need to be avoided or relocated.
Once the analysis is complete, our excavation team will use heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and backhoes to remove the soil and other materials from the site. This may involve cutting down hills or removing rocks and boulders in order to create a level and stable surface.
At GJ Demolition and Landscaping, we ensure our site-cut excavation services are provided with accuracy. We use our latest laser technology to provide the most level cut with an accuracy of 30mm as to your plans. Ready to talk about your site excavation project? FREE SITE VISIT & QUOTATION
The cost of excavation in Sydney varies depending on factors such as the type of soil, depth of excavation, site accessibility, and the scope of the project. We provide personalized quotes after assessing the specific requirements of your excavation project. Contact us for a detailed estimate tailored to your needs.
Excavation costs are calculated based on factors like:
- Volume of material: The amount of soil or material that needs to be excavated.
- Type of soil: Different soil types may require specialized equipment or techniques.
- Site accessibility: The ease of access to the excavation site.
- Depth of excavation: Deeper excavations may require additional safety measures and equipment.
By evaluating these factors, we can provide an accurate cost estimate for your excavation project.
The amount of excavation that can be completed in a day depends on various factors, including the type of soil, the size and efficiency of the excavation equipment, and the complexity of the project. Our team works efficiently to maximize productivity while ensuring the safety and quality of the excavation work.
The duration of an excavation project varies based on factors such as the size of the site, the depth of excavation, and any specific project requirements. Smaller projects may be completed in a few days, while larger and more complex excavations may take several weeks. We provide a detailed timeline during the consultation phase, taking into account the unique aspects of your project.
The safe depth for excavation depends on factors such as soil type, environmental conditions, and the presence of nearby structures. As a general guideline, OSHA recommends that protective systems be used for excavations that are 5 feet (1.5 meters) or deeper. However, site-specific conditions may require additional safety measures. Our team follows industry standards and conducts thorough site assessments to ensure safe excavation practices.
